剧情简介: SERGEI has two loves: VERONIKA, whom he fears he has lost forever, and the eternal forests of Siberia. An ordinary boy from the Kazakhstan Steppe, Sergei Nikitin lands the opportunity of a lifetime, building a flagship resort in the same Altai Mountain forest that has had so strong a grip on his imagination since childhood. A primitive amulet, revelations about his GRANDMOTHER\'s past, and an unlikely visit from an ALTAI SHAMAN, compel Sergei to search out his OLD PROFESSOR of pre-Slavic mythology. Failing to heed what he learned from his grandmother, certain mysterious warnings from the shaman, or his professor\'s advice about ancient Altaic belief, Sergei propels himself to America. It\'s not just the final round of financing that finds Sergei in Manhattan: he finds Veronika. A complete reunion of the lovers is not to be, however; and his dreams turn nightmarish as the reality of what he\'s engineered becomes clear, forcing the most profound realization of his life.
