剧情简介: Matthew\'s work investigates the visual language and grammars of affect that operate in moving-images. Exploring artistic value in terms of its ability to resist the commodification of meaning, he plays with internal logics to illustrate an ongoing battle over the control of signification and its political qualities. Notions of dualism, nothingness, Quality and the self run throughout and he continues to explore our psychological tendency for reducing reality to \'Narrative\'. His methodologies involve editing fragments of document and found footage into video assemblages that frame, reframe and deconstruct different aspects of filmic experience. This questions the relationship between the viewer, viewing and how the \'read\' tends to dominate or replace the \'seen\'.
