剧情简介: Streets in the Sky is an atmospheric documentary that encompasses many themes, meditating on memory, loss and transition. The Park Hill estate in Sheffield is the largest social housing project of its type in Europe designed and built in 1960s Britain with brutalist ideals. It elevated streets and stacked families on top of each other. The aspiration was to take people out of the slums by providing high density affordable housing whilst keeping the community that lived there together. The estate was like a castle on a hill, with the best views of the city, it\'s own school, pub, post office and health centre. The film meditates on the design of social environments, and the ideals and intentions of the architects. It also is a fragmented portrait of family, community and society as the ghosts of the residents still linger in the block concrete architecture and behind the row upon row of steel that still boards up the buildings. The documentary also considers the regeneration programme, presently being undertaken by Urban Splash, that appropriates the aesthetics but not necessarily the values of the modernist social housing project that was like \'heaven\' to its residents when they first moved in over 50 years ago.
